There's a curious lack of baseball reviews on Panjury. We must change that!

Two consecutive Cy Youngs. Four consecutive All-Star games.

Three consecutive years leading the league in strikeouts.

But something happened and he wasn't the same.

Lincecum was a big part of the 2010 World Series victory, going 4-1 and even pitching a complete game shutout. But in 2012, he only had one start with five relief appearnces. And by 2014, he just had one relief appearance in the World Series against the Royals.

Through 2013, Lincecum had two HOF pitchers on his comparables list. After the 2016 season, it consists mostly of decent pitchers, none of whom would merit consideration.

Given his 2016 numbers, I would be surprised to see him get another chance. I am glad he did so well for the Giants and if I were to base it just on numbers he would surely rank ahead of Bill Mueller and Conor Gillaspie but in terms of my emotional attachment to the players, he didn't tug at my heartstrings the way Mueller did when I was 11 and a Giants fan for the first time.

Timmy Jim has regressed significantly but I still like him. He's not unlike the Iverson of the NBA, idolized by short guys because of his physique. Sadly, he cannot escape the curse of his own body. As predicted, his body broke down and he's now only a shadow of his former self.

It's a shame that he didn't last longer. He looks extremely cool, too.
